Arriving into Daytona Beach:
The Halifax River Yacht Club is located at 331 South
Beach Street in Daytona Beach, FL
By Water: The Yacht Club is located adjacent to
the Municipal Marina just south of the Memorial ridge (Orange Ave)
on the West Side of the Halifax River. If anyone needs any help
with the Inlet, a local sailor took note of the GPS coordinates
while going out Ponce Inlet serer al times and shared
the coordinates <HERE>. These were run at low tide
and there was still 9' of water. *Please note, these were coordinates
used by a local sailor, and can be used as a guideline only. Please
exercise caution while going through Ponce Inlet.
You should make dockage reservations by calling the Halifax
River Yacht Club at 386-255-7459. Dockage the week of the
GulfStreamer Race is
free on a first come, first serve basis.

By Land: From I-4 or I-95, exit at U.S. 92 East.
Turn right at Beach Street. Club is on the third block just beyond
fire station.

Goings on around Daytona Beach the week of May 23rd - the
Daytona Beach Cubs,
our minor league baseball team is at home at Jackie Robinson Field
(one block north of HRYC) all week long. There is live music at
Ivy Lane Bistro, Angell & Phelps Cafe and McK's Irish Tavern
on Beach Street just a few steps from HRYC. The Chart House restaurant
has a new outside bar with entertainment on the water and Blue Grotto
at the City Marina has just opened a short walk away. A short cab
ride away (Yellow Cab 386-255-5555) is the popular Daytona Lagoon
water park, the Ocean Deck restaurant and club on the beach, and
of course the world's most famous beach, Daytona Beach. Don't forget
to visit the Daytona
500 Experience, the "official attraction
of NASCAR", on International Drive.

Arriving in Charleston
The Charleston Yacht Club is located at 17 Lockwood
Drive, Charleston, SC. The dockage at the Charleston Yacht
Club is the Charleston City Marina, also
at 17 Lockwood Dr.
By Water: Charleston City Marina is located just
off the Intracoastal Waterway at mile 469.5 on the Ashley River. Each
boat is required to make it's own dockage arrangements. Please contact
the Charleston City Marina for reservations by calling
the Dock Masters office at 843-278-4934 or make reservations online
by clicking Here
Radio Contact: The Marina Staff monitors VHF Channel
16. Hours are from 0700 to 2000., closing at 1800 in the off season.
By Land: From I-26 - Take I-26 to the end following
signs to Hwy 17 South. Once on Hwy 17 South (Crosstown), go through
4 lights, staying in the center lane. Follow signs to Lockwood Drive.
Turn left onto Lockwood Drive (before you cross the Ashley River Bridge).
Marina is approximately 0.5 miles on the right at the 2nd stoplight.
From Hwy 17 South - After crossing the Arthur Ravenel Bridge into
downtown Charleston, stay on Hwy 17 South (Crosstown) and go through
4 lights, staying in the center lane. Follow signs to Lockwood Drive.
Turn left onto Lockwood Drive (before you cross the Ashley River Bridge).
Marina is approximately 0.5 miles on the right at the 2nd stoplight.
From Hwy 17 North - After crossing the Ashley River Bridge, follow
signs to Lockwood Drive South (1st Lockwood exit). Bear right onto
Lockwood Drive. Marina is approximately 0.5 miles on the right at
the second stoplight.
A block of rooms has been reserved in Charleston
at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 35 Lockwood Drive, 0.2 miles
from the Charleston City Marina and the Charleston Yacht
Club, for $109.00/night (plus tax). All racers needing
a room are responsible for their own reservations by calling the
Marriott directly at 843-722-7229 and mention promotion code GUSS
for the discounted rate. This promotional rate will only be available
for reservations made until April 30th, 2010.
